Methodology
How the estimate works
MatchPool uses current source-based demographic tables to estimate how many adult men or women fit the active filters.
What is state-ready right now
The app starts from a geography pool and then applies age, height, income, education, relationship status, kids, obesity, race, and sexuality filters as probabilities. The geography layer is state-aware, and the gender toggle switches the base pool and the sex-sensitive tables.
Current source anchors
- Geography base pools are tied to current US Census population-estimate releases.
- Women are derived from the current national female share and men from the existing male base.
- Height is anchored to CDC measured adult height for men and women.
- Obesity uses CDC adult obesity prevalence with sex-aware age shaping.
- Income and education use current Census releases as anchors for compact lookup tables.
- Sexuality uses Gallup national age-pattern estimates.
